Observation of a social situation

12th Street Beach was bustling with people (actors) on the afternoon of Sunday July 3, 2011. Some actors had their BBQ grills and coolers out,some laid on the grass and enjoyed the scenery and others read on the concrete while feeling the brisk air of the lake upon their faces. Still other actors (including a wedding party) took on more active roles and photographed themselves against the picturesque scene of the Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. Those not consumed with photographing walked along the beach with friends and/or family, others held hands, rode bikes, and some even "planked." Some actors were in the lake on their yachts, water skiing, or on a cruise ride of the city from Navy Pier. In the sky, helicopters pulled banners promoting the new Smurf Movie and the Paul McCartney concert. 12th Street Beach was bustling on water, land and air on this Sunday afternoon and all actors appeared to be relaxed and content while soaking in the sun, the light wind, and the beautiful view of this city.
